Three years after the overdose, Demi Lovato released a four-part YouTube documentary called Dancing With The Devil that answered questions people had been afraid to ask. She revealed that on the night of the overdose her drug dealer had sexually assaulted her while she was incapacitated, and that she had initially told hospital staff it was consensual because she only remembered a flash of what happened. She also disclosed that she had lost her virginity to rape as a teenager. The documentary came out and the internet went very quiet for a moment, which almost never happens. Even people who had been critical of her publicly found it difficult to respond to that level of honesty.
